Unbelievable Saws for sale!

20 Aug

After going camping this summer I experienced difficulty breaking logs into a manageable size for the campfire. I had some success burning through them but this was painfully slow! Upon further research I discovered a most excellent tool-the Unbelievable Saw and I was so impressed with its performance that I felt I had to sell them. Made of high-strength heat-treated steel and coated for rust resistance, the Unbelievable Saw cuts in both directions and is lightweight to carry. It is far superior to the folding hand saws I have used and got annoyed with.

My price is £20 each now down to only £17 including Royal Mail Recorded Delivery in the UK. You don’t need a Google account to purchase, just a credit or debit card. You have the added advantage that this is a secure transaction, processed by Google.

I’ve found mine very useful so far, not only when camping but for DIY in the garden and in the house. Here’s a video of the Unbelievable Saw in action in realtime:

New look!

12 Aug

As you may be able to tell, I’m trying a new look for the site. I decided the plain white looked a bit simple so have made the site a little snazzier. If any of my readership have any comments, please do so below.

Thanks,

Dave.

A pipe

01 Aug

After reading the occasional mention on the cigar forum about pipes, I thought I’d get round to trying one again. I’d tried a cheap briar in my early twenties but had trouble with keeping it lit and harsh smoke. This time, armed with some expert information I purchased a Missouri Meerschaum Curved Legend and a pack of St. Bruno Flake.

I chose the Flake over the Ready Rubbed Read the rest of this entry »

USB charger modification

27 May

I bought a mains USB charger from ebay capable of supplying 1A (from arygroup) for my HTC Desire, and was surprised when it wouldn’t charge as fast as the original charger that had the same rating. I thought that maybe it was just a poor quality charger considering the price, but then I noticed that the original charger the phone realised it was on AC, but on USB with the new charger.

Reading about USB phone charging on Wikipedia it appeared that the data pins need to be shorted together to signify Read the rest of this entry »

Another couple of razors

10 May

I’d been meaning to purchase an open comb razor for a while as I’m still too lazy to shave daily. I’d read that an open comb would be a better choice for longer, more coarse hair (which mine is) so I went for the Muhle R41.

Also, I noticed the Feather Popular was Read the rest of this entry »

Apologies…

19 Apr

Hey folks, it may appear that I have been slack with updating my blog recently. I have recently moved house and all the fuss associated with that has left my time for blogging at a minimum.

There are some updates in the offing however! Obviously I have not stopped smoking cigars, so have still been making notes but the reviews for this period will not be as comprehensive as before. I have also got a lovely new phone, an HTC Desire, which is a phenomenal piece of kit, so look out for some thoughts on that soon.

I’m still here!

MD80 camera instructions

23 Feb

Seeing as I get so much traffic from people looking for the instructions for the MD80 camera (similar to this or this from Maplin in the UK, though I got mine from eBay), I thought I’d scan mine and post them [now over 3000 views and not a single thank you]. I’m not sure if this is actually THE MD80 camera, but I believe the only difference is the case material. I thought I’d watermark the images as I actually went to the trouble of scanning them; the copyright of the manual isn’t mine but the image is. You may also like to take a look at http://MD80instructions.co.uk that I’m in the process of building which provides more in-depth information on the camera and its uses.

UPDATE 24 AUGUST 2010: JUST SEEN THESE CAMERAS AVAILABLE FOR £12.99 DELIVERED IN THE UK AT 7DAYSHOP (ALSO AVAILABLE WITH 4 GIG AND 8 GIG CARD)

If you’re looking for a bargain priced memory card for it, buy it from either of these retailers. I’ve used both and have been happy with the service.

Hi!

Well here’s the obligatory first post. After hearing I write notes on all the cigars I smoke, someone suggested I start blogging them. I’ve actually been meaning to set up a blog for some time to review stuff, not just cigars. I guess I’ve started now, let’s see if I carry on…
