Smoked 11 September 2010. Box code was GEA OCT 08; in humidor since 23 September 2009.
I smoked this at my brother’s wedding. I took a few other cigars with me but I didn’t really have the opportunity to enjoy anything substantial. There was a reason I chose the Hoyo Petit Robusto. My Uncle used to smoke cigars about six years ago, but as he’d mentioned the word Hamlet in the past, I wasn’t sure what his experience with bigger cigars was. He’d taken me up on my offer of a cigar at the wedding.
I’ve noticed that those not used to hand-rolled have a tendency to puff hard and fast on them, overheating them. This was the reason for going with something fatter, and of course I wasn’t sure how long we were going to end up outside for, hence going for the shorter length. It appears both were good ideas!
