This was £4 from Asda and I think that was a discounted price. Also available at £4.11 from Tesco. At 13% it was very easy drinking.
It had quite a spirity smell-I don’t mean alcohol, I mean strongly scented like whisky. Utterly gorgeous to smell, reminiscent of Pedro Ximenez sherry to me. Prunes, raisins, all there!
To taste, it started out smooth with the very slightest hint of tannins. After it had some air, they become more pronounced and blackberry, then plum, then even chocolate starts coming through too.
For four quid this cheap red wine is pretty tasty! I’ll definitely be getting a few more of these in. Great value for money.
